Take Your Power Back

Peace is your portion.

When I was a little girl I didn’t understand why I didn’t live with my mother. All I knew as a child was that my Papa and my Nat-Nat took care of me, my brothers, and my cousins. My Papa always made sure we had everything we needed and I always remember us taken care of greatly. Every Christmas was great because Papa made sure we all had something to play with and he always made sure we were active playing outdoors. I think maybe around 9 or 10 did I understand why we didn’t live with our mother. I remember visiting her at drug rehab home locations as a little girl but it never affected me, so I thought. I did not recognize during my childhood the moments I was learning forms of love, care, and nurturing abilities. I did not recognize the abandonment, abuse, and neglect that would later manifest in my life because these aspects were not addressed during my childhood. In turn, this left me with the wrong understanding of what love truly was supposed to be.

Matthew 11:12 KJV reads, And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force.

What is abuse? Abuse is any type of misuse or cruel/violent treatment of a person or animal. Many of us go through some form of abuse whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. Abuse is abuse and unless addressed continues down people’s bloodlines. Abuse has been a huge topic this year for God’s people because abuse has been used to delay destinies and purposes. God says, Enough! I would like to take abuse back to the beginning of its effects and the effects that happen when not fully addressed. I would like to talk about how abuse can sometimes be viewed in our society. We have the “Why now”, the “No-Talk ”, the “Pay you off”, and the “You want clout” culture.

Abuse in any form matters. Just because others may not see your abuse as valid does not mean it is not real and that it didn’t happen to you. It’s like with the statements I shared above people want people to be numb to their pain. It is a wicked form of thinking. We have been miseducated and misinformed about the effects of abuse. We have been miseducated on how our minds connect to our bodies and souls. That they are one and when one has affected then the others too will be affected. In turn, this creates an imbalance in our lives that many of us don’t understand so we never reach our full capabilities.

The bible reads that Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. This demonic entity comes to steal your mind, kill your soul, and to destroy your body. And it comes by tricks and deception in the form of knowledge. Revelation 12:16 reads And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. The flood is knowledge and that dragon is Satan. We must be renewed with the Word of God since Satan has unleashed confusing knowledge upon the Earth.

Suppression leads to blockages. Suppression has different definitions based on the field it’s related to and I will use the ones that connect with my words. According to Oxford Languages, in Biology suppression is the absence or nondevelopment of a part or organ that is normally present. In Psychology, suppression is the restraint or repression of an idea, activity, or reaction by something more powerful. In psychoanalysis, suppression is the conscious inhibition of unacceptable memories, impulses, or desires. Suppression is not good no matter how we look at it because it does something to us internally that we cannot control the effects towards. In fact, suppression makes us powerless. There is power in releasing things that don’t serve our highest quality of life. And when we suppress we actually are given our power to that thing, situation, and/or experience allowing these things to rule in our minds, bodies, and souls. In turn, this suppression leads to depression, the anxiety of all sorts, and just emotional imbalance of all kinds that can ruin relationships, opportunities, etc.

God does not allow us to go through what we go through for any reason. God is a God of vengeance and your pain matters. God wants to take that pain, abuse, and trauma to turn it into the waters of life. God wants to teach us how to transmute lower energies such as pain, abuse, and trauma to higher energies held in the spaces of healing and peace. The realms of healing and peace are where our Creator lives and desires for us to reside. That is why it is important to grow a relationship with our Creator so that we can be healed and our lights can shine. Abuse comes to dim our light and even to kill it. We are the light of the world sent as God’s children. Healing is on the wings of the Lord and healing is what will take place on unprecedented levels to fulfill God’s unfailing word.

Why is healing so important to God? We as children of the light are not meant to carry burdens and baggage of abuse and trauma. Healing is so important right now due to God’s word being fulfilled. God needs his children to be healed in order for deeper miracles, wonders, and signs to take place. God needs his children to be healed so that his glory is manifested in their lives on greater levels. Your healing will help to heal others. We each will be used to heal each other by the power of the Holy Ghost, that same spirit that moved upon this same Earth when it was dark and void.

The conclusion of the matter is that we must make it normal to discuss our abuse and trauma, especially within suppressed communities. This will help cut the root of abuse passed down through our bloodlines and DNAs. We must evolve the conversations to healing and what healing should be in turns of seeking a higher quality of life. This healing begins with each of us individually going on the self-awareness journey of self-discovery. This healing has to begin within each of us and we have to heal individually on a collective level so that we can use our experiences to help one another. For many who do not have a relationship with God, this will help lead us to gain a relationship with God. Why? Because the journey of self-discovery is discovering the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus Christ, which is the unveiling of the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 11:28-30 – 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

James 5:16 – Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Psalms 147:3 – He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Jeremiah 17:14 – Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
